Terms of Service

Last updated: 19/07/2026

Welcome to Scratch Shot. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website at www.scratchshotcoffee.co.uk (the "Site") and your purchase of any products from us. By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before ordering.

1. Who we are

Scratch Shot is operated by Scratch Shot Coffee Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17291231, with registered office at 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA ("Scratch Shot", "we", "us", "our").

You can contact us at:

2. Our products

Scratch Shot sells roasted coffee and related products, including but not limited to Front Nine, Back Nine, Mulligan decaf, and our Practice Round sample bag.

We make every effort to display our products, including colours, packaging, and descriptions, as accurately as possible. Slight variations in roast, packaging, or product images may occur and do not affect your statutory rights.

All coffee is roasted to order or in small batches. Best before dates and roast dates are printed on each bag. As a food product, coffee is perishable and its quality may deteriorate over time; we recommend consuming it within the period stated on the packaging.

3. Allergen and dietary information

Our coffee is processed in a facility that may also handle other allergens. If you have a specific allergy or intolerance, please contact us before ordering at hello@scratchshotcoffee.co.uk. Full ingredient and allergen information for any product is available on request.

4. Orders and acceptance

Placing an order through the Site is an offer to buy. We will send you an order confirmation email, but this does not mean we have accepted your order; it is only confirmation that we have received it. A contract between us is only formed when we send you a dispatch confirmation email.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, for example where a product is out of stock, where we identify a pricing or listing error, or where we suspect fraud. If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will issue a full refund.

5. Pricing and payment

All prices are shown in GBP (£) and include UK VAT where applicable, unless stated otherwise. Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout before you complete your order.

We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct, but errors can occur. If we discover a pricing error on an order you have placed, we will contact you to confirm whether you wish to proceed at the correct price or cancel, and we will not charge you until you have responded.

Payment is taken at the point of order via the payment methods offered at checkout, processed securely through Shopify's payment infrastructure. We do not store your full card details.

6. Delivery

We aim to dispatch orders within 3 working days of receiving payment. Delivery timescales shown at checkout are estimates and not guaranteed. Risk in the products passes to you once they are delivered to the address you provided.

If a delivery is delayed significantly, please contact us and we will do our best to resolve this. We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, such as courier disruption or extreme weather.

7. Your right to cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

If you are a consumer ordering from within the UK, you generally have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Important exception for perishable goods: because coffee is a perishable food product supplied sealed for health and hygiene reasons, your right to cancel does not apply once a bag has been unsealed or opened, and does not apply to fresh-roasted coffee that is liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly. This does not affect your right to a refund or replacement for products that are faulty, damaged, or not as described.

If you wish to cancel an unopened, unused order within 14 days, contact us at hello@scratchshotcoffee.co.uk and we will provide instructions for return and refund. You will need to return the goods at your own cost unless we agree otherwise, and we will refund you within 14 days of receiving the returned goods.

8. Faulty, damaged, or incorrect items

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have a legal right to receive goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or different from what you ordered, please contact us at hello@scratchshotcoffee.co.uk within a reasonable time, ideally with a photo, and we will offer a replacement, refund, or repair as appropriate. This is in addition to, and does not affect, your other statutory rights.

9. Returns

If you wish to return a product for any reason other than a fault, please contact us first at hello@scratchshotcoffee.co.uk. Given the perishable nature of coffee, we are only able to accept returns of unopened, unused products, and reserve the right to decline returns of opened bags except where the product is faulty.

10. Intellectual property

All content on the Site, including the Scratch Shot name, logo, branding, product names, photography, and written content, is owned by or licensed to us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or use our branding or content without our prior written permission.

11. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Site for any unlawful purpose, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, or to interfere with the proper functioning of the Site.

12. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law.

Subject to the above, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your order will be limited to the total amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses.

13. Privacy and data protection

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. See our Privacy Policy for details of what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law or how we run our business. The version in effect at the time you place an order will apply to that order. We will post the current version on this page with the "last updated" date shown above.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you can bring legal proceedings in respect of the products in the English and Welsh courts, or if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts of that jurisdiction.

We also participate in, or are happy to direct you to, alternative dispute resolution services if a complaint cannot be resolved directly. Contact us in the first instance at hello@scratchshotcoffee.co.uk.
